We Innovate Technology to Provide Life-Saving Solutions

BIOTRONIK’s legacy of innovation goes a long way: From developing the first German pacemaker to our award-winning Home Monitoring system, inventing GoldTip and the DX technology as well as unique vascular solutions like PK Papyrus, Orsiro Mission and Oscar, to our new spinal cord stimulation system Prospera. Today, we are proud of our 60 years of innovations and service to the healthcare community.

We continuously improve the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of heart and blood vessel diseases, as well as chronic pain, our focus is on a long-term research and development strategy. In our Berlin headquarters alone, one out of every five employees work in R&D.

How We Drive Innovation

We Challenge the Status-Quo

As pioneers in the cardiovascular field, we dedicate ourselves to research. Every day we question, doubt and challenge the status quo – that's how we continuously improve industry standards. This is reflected in more than 3,0001 product patents.

We Think in the Long Term

Being a privately owned company allows us to commit to a long-term strategy for research and development. We take time to make decisions rather than push for quick results. Our research focuses on the most pressing problems of today and tomorrow: Our solutions aim to advance clinical outcomes, prevention, healthcare workflows and cost efficiency.

We Focus on the Needs of Physicians and Patients

Collaboration and customer feedback are paramount to developing future solutions. We can only develop our solutions and services through our countless interactions with users. That’s why we organize expert panels, feedback sessions and networking events to connect healthcare professionals and patients with our engineers. This has directly led to innovations such as CardioMessenger Smart and CRT AutoAdapt.

Dr Alexander Uhl

Ever since BIOTRONIK developed the first German pacemaker in 1963, we have been paving the way for pioneering innovations.

From pacemakers and ICDs, to resorbable scaffolds, multifunctional catheters and a new approach to manage spinal cord stimulation – we have and will continue innovating medical technology to reduce physician burden and improve patient care.
